Industry 5.0 emphasizes the significance of merging human-machine interactions, where digital twin (DT) technologies serve as crucial links between physical systems and their digital equivalents. The concept of 'digital twin' frequently encounters ambiguity, resulting in misinterpretations by the stakeholders in areas such as computational engineering, modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence, data analysis, data storage, user experience design, etc. For systematic assessment, this study presents a novel DT maturity level model for mechanical products. As shown in Figure 1, it provides a structured scoring system to effectively evaluate digital twin maturity across Levels 0 to 5 using a point-based scoring system. An evaluation of existing literature will be carried out to verify the efficacy of the proposed approach. The maturity level based digital twin structure will augment corporate efficiency and decision-making, contributing to societal advancement through more sustainable and inventive industries within the framework of Industry 5.0.
